  • Multi-agency instructions were 46% less likely to sell than off-market instructions. We analyse whether multi-agency listings really work better.
  • The declining appeal of flats. Flats are less popular, less likely to sell, more likely to have a price reduction and take longer to sell.

“Is the housing market holding its breath? Buyer caution, affordability pressures and an uncertain economic backdrop continue to keep the market subdued. The announcement of the Your First Home scheme should give new build demand a welcome boost. Meanwhile, the rollout of the Home Buying and Selling Roadmap offers hope of finally tackling the painfully long transaction timescales.

With demand contracting and mortgage rates creeping to 6%, it could be a tough winter for Q4. Let’s hope the Budget can ease some of the pressures on households and give a much-needed injection of confidence to the sector.“
